SML has been appointed by the Government as a "Framework Supplier"* under the Low Carbon Buildings Programme (LCBP) Phase 2 scheme, meaning that SML's solar water heating systems and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are subject to grants of up to 50% of the total purchase and installation cost.
The LCBP Phase 2 scheme provides £50 million of capital grant funding for the installation of various microgeneration technologies - including solar water heating and PV - by organisations in the UK public and not-for-profit sectors, including local authorities, housing associations, schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, public service organisations and registered charities.
We are now urging all our social housing clients to identify current and future new-build and renovation schemes where solar energy technologies are to be incorporated. By engaging with us early in the planning process, we can assess the suitability of the technologies and assist with grant applications to safeguard the 50% grant funding before the June 2009 deadline.
