Re-allocation of LCBP Phase 2 funding pots sees more money for solar PV

The Government announced today an amendment to the LCBP Phase 2 funding pots with a further £2m being re-allocated from biomass to solar PV.

The move follows on from news in March that funding had run out for solar PV due to a surge in applications for the technology over the last few months.  The take-up of applications for biomass under LCBP Phase 2 has however been very poor with just over £500,000 awarded from the total pot of £4m.  It comes as no surprise therefore that funds have been switched to solar PV where there is a considerable backlog of applications which were received after the funding for this technology ran out in February.

Funding is still available for solar water heating and we would urge all those eligible organisations who are looking to secure LCBP Phase 2 funding for this technology to contact SML at the earliest opportunity.
