The Homes and Communities Agency brings together all the activities of English Partnerships and the Academy for Sustainable Communities, the inv.estment functions of the Housing Corporation and the delivery responsibility of most of CLG's growth and renewal programmes. As England's single housing and regeneration body, the HCA's remit is simply; to create opportunity for people to live, work and enjoy life in places that they desire and that they can afford.
To achieve this the new agency seeks to work with its stakeholders to develop successful housing and regeneration strategies across England by assigning four priority areas:
Ensuring the ongoing delivery of existing projects and programmes
Working with our partners in government and in the industry to develop a successful response to the credit crunch
Transforming the organisation and bedding in our ways of working
Introducing and developing the Single Conversation, the HCA's new business model
